Interior Designer in Battersea

Mond Design Interiors is a BIID-accredited boutique residential interior design studio based in Wimbledon, working with homeowners across Battersea and Nine Elms. We design thoughtful, timeless interiors for period homes, Victorian and Edwardian properties, apartments, new-build developments and renovation projects.

Karina, the founder and designer behind Mond Design Interiors, personally leads every Battersea project, whether it's a Victorian terrace or a new apartment at the Power Station, including for clients who are based overseas.

From a single room to a newly bought apartment or an entire Battersea home, our approach starts with understanding how the household lives and how the home should feel.

Residential Interior Design in Battersea

Battersea offers an unusually diverse mix of homes. Victorian terraces and family houses sit alongside converted period properties and some of London's most recognisable new-build developments, so there is no single approach to designing a Battersea home.

For a period property near Battersea Park, the starting point may be original fireplaces, cornicing, sash windows and architectural proportions that deserve to be retained and enhanced.

For a new-build apartment around Battersea Power Station or Nine Elms, the challenge is often very different. The architecture may be contemporary and the finishes high specification, but the space can still feel impersonal. Carefully considered furniture, lighting, colour, materials and joinery can turn a developer-finished apartment into a home with warmth and personality.

Whatever the property, we design around its architecture and the people who live there, creating interiors that are practical for everyday life as well as beautiful to look at. One designer, a considered process and a high-end finish, from family houses to riverside apartments.

What We Do

We offer a full interior design service for residential clients across Battersea and the surrounding areas — from concept through to completion, including furniture sourcing and specification, material and finish selection across flooring, paint, fabrics and lighting, space planning and layout, project management and contractor coordination, and e-design for clients based outside the UK or overseas.

How We Begin: Design Through Sketches

Many of our projects start with a sketch.

For key rooms, we'll often hand-draw the concept first — working out mood, atmosphere, and the overall feel of the space before a single material is locked in.

Sketching this way keeps things fluid: because it isn't a polished, photorealistic image, we're free to play with textures, finishes, and layout as the project develops, rather than presenting a client with a "final" look too early. It's less about showing what a room will look like, and more about setting a direction — one we can keep adding to, editing, and refining as the design comes together.

Why Choose a BIID-Accredited Interior Designer?

Mond Design Interiors is accredited by the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID). For homeowners investing significantly in their property, that accreditation shows the practice has met recognised requirements for experience, competence and professional standards.

Many Battersea Power Station and Nine Elms apartments are bought by clients who live abroad or travel often. For them, having one accredited designer who can manage the whole project, from design and sourcing to contractors, deliveries and installation, makes it possible to come home to a finished space rather than a set of decisions still waiting to be made.

How We Work

  1. Free 15-minute introductory call — a first conversation about the project, the home and budget expectations.

  2. On-site consultation —a visit to the property, from a Victorian terrace near Clapham Junction to an apartment at Battersea Power Station, to start shaping the brief.

  3. Design development — mood boards, layouts, material and furniture selections tailored to your space.

  4. Sourcing and procurement — purchasing, deliveries and suppliers all handled by the studio, start to finish.

  5. Delivery — from final styling to handover, we see every project through to completion.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between an interior designer and an interior decorator?
Interior decorating focuses on the finishing layer: colour, fabrics, furniture and styling. Interior design also shapes the space itself, through layouts, lighting and bespoke joinery. Mond Design Interiors offers both, so Battersea homes, from period family houses to high-end apartments at Battersea Power Station, are designed and decorated as one considered scheme.

Does Mond Design Interiors work with apartments at Battersea Power Station?

Yes. We work with residential clients across Battersea and Nine Elms, including homeowners looking to furnish or completely redesign contemporary new-build apartments.

Does the studio work on Victorian and Edwardian homes in Battersea?

Yes. We work across different residential property types, including period houses and conversions. Our approach is to respect original architectural features while creating interiors that work for contemporary life.

Is it possible to work on a single room?

Yes. There's no need to commission a complete home transformation. We work on individual spaces such as living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and home offices, as well as larger multi-room projects.

How much does an interior designer cost in Battersea?

Fees depend on the size, scope and complexity of the project and the level of service required. After an initial conversation, we recommend the most appropriate approach and provide a clear proposal and fee structure.

Can the studio manage a project for clients who live overseas?

Yes. We work with clients who live outside the UK or travel frequently. Depending on the project, we can coordinate design, sourcing, contractors, deliveries and installation remotely while keeping you involved in the important decisions.

How do I get started?

The first step is a free 15-minute call. It's a chance to talk through the property, the goals for the project and whether our interior design services are the right fit.
