Interior Designer in Battersea
Mond Design Interiors is a boutique interior design studio based in SW London, working with homeowners across Battersea who want their homes to feel genuinely considered — not just furnished, but designed around how they actually live.
Every project is led personally by Karina, founder of the studio and a BIID-accredited interior designer. There are no account managers, no junior designers, and no handoffs. The person you speak to on your first call is the person designing your home from concept to final styling.
A Neighbourhood Transformed — and Full of Design Potential
Battersea has changed beyond recognition. What was once a stretch of industrial riverside is now one of London's most exciting addresses, and the homes here reflect that ambition. Circus West Village, Prospect Place, the Gehry-designed buildings on Electric Boulevard, Switch House within the Power Station itself — these are properties with striking architecture, exceptional views and the kind of open-plan, high-specification interiors that need a considered design eye to feel like home rather than a show apartment.
At the same time, Battersea has always had a quieter residential side. The Victorian and Edwardian streets around Battersea Park, the period conversions on Latchmere Road, the family houses near Clapham Junction — these are properties with completely different design challenges and completely different potential. We work across both worlds.
Designing for New-Build Apartments
The new developments at Battersea Power Station attract buyers from across the UK and internationally, and many arrive with a blank canvas they're not sure what to do with. A developer specification gives you a starting point, not a finished home. The finishes are often neutral to the point of anonymity. The layouts are open and light-filled but need structure — furniture placement, lighting layers, materials and colour — to feel warm, personal and liveable.
This is exactly what we do. We work with the architecture rather than against it, using the building's proportions, light and views as a starting point and layering in design decisions that make the space feel completely yours. Whether you've just completed on a Switch House apartment, a Prospect Place residence or a Circus West home, we'd love to talk.
What We Do
We offer a full interior design service for residential clients across Battersea and the surrounding areas — full interior design from concept through to completion, furniture sourcing and specification, material and finish selection across flooring, paint, fabrics and lighting, space planning and layout, project management and contractor coordination, and e-design for clients based outside the UK or overseas.
We work on everything from a single key space to a full home transformation. Fees are agreed based on the scope of your project, and we're always transparent about costs from the very first conversation.
How We Begin: Design Through Sketches
Many of our projects start with a sketch. For key rooms, we'll often hand-draw the concept first — working out mood, atmosphere, and the overall feel of the space before a single material is locked in. Sketching this way keeps things fluid: because it isn't a polished, photorealistic image, we're free to play with textures, finishes, and layout as the project develops, rather than presenting a client with a "final" look too early. It's less about showing what a room will look like, and more about setting a direction — one we can keep adding to, editing, and refining as the design comes together.

Working With Overseas and International Clients
Several of our clients are based outside the UK or travel frequently. The Battersea Power Station development has attracted buyers from across Europe, Asia and beyond, and many need a designer who can manage the entire project in their absence. We handle contractor coordination, sourcing, deliveries and installation, keeping clients updated at every stage so nothing moves forward without their approval.
Why BIID Accreditation Matters
Being BIID-accredited — the British Institute of Interior Design — means verified professional standards and a completed portfolio of residential work. It's the mark that distinguishes a trained interior designer from a decorator, and it matters particularly when you're making significant decisions about a high-value property from a distance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you work in the Battersea Power Station development specifically?
Yes — we work with residents across the development, including Circus West Village, Prospect Place, Switch House and the wider Nine Elms area. New-build apartments are a core part of what we do, and we understand the specific design challenges and opportunities these properties present.
Do you work with overseas buyers?
Yes. Several of our clients are based outside the UK and we manage projects entirely in their absence, keeping them informed and involved at every stage without requiring them to be present.
How do I get started?
The first step is a free 15-minute call to discuss your project. From there we arrange an on-site consultation at your Battersea property.
Do you work on period properties as well as new builds?
Yes — we work across all residential property types in Battersea, from Victorian terraces and period conversions to high-specification new-build apartments. Each requires a different approach, and we're experienced in both.
